On Monday the whole school went to Tamaki Estuary to pick up rubbish and help the community, animals, sea and rivers. We had to work in partners.
We had a fun time working together and picking up rubbish. I found many rubbish during this activity we had done.
Their are a lot of rubbish out in the area like bottles, magazines, chip packets, cans, snack packets and many more. To prevent this from happening we need to all work together by not littering and by picking up rubbish.
I am a Year 7 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 12 and my teachers are Mrs Golder and Mr Reid.

Rafting!
On Friday the 21st my class went kayaking it was fun because we learnt and experienced new things like floating, how to get across a river, what you do when your about to drown and many more. At the same time though it was scary because I felt like I was going to fall out of the boat and when we were swimming I felt like I was going to drown.
I learnt how to cross a dangerous river and also learnt how to swim when in a dangerous situation.

Graphics Class
Today at tech I went to graphics class. I was excited, but first we had to get into partners before we began. I was with Joanlisi and we actually had a great time working together and experiencing different thing's we have never done before. Mrs Ferguson gave us a paper and pencil.
This is what we had to do first, fold your paper 4 times each then you get 4 empty squares. What you have to do is write design ideas on the top.
You then write in each square 1 idea, 2 idea, 3 idea, and 4 idea. The meaning of this is we had to create type's of game's. I had fun because I came up with lot's, my first one I had made was tik tak toe, the original game but it was different because the pieces were emoji's. One was miracle emoji and the second was love heart eyes.
Another game I made was jenga the game most people know but it's just different because you have to try and stack the donuts and make sure that they don't fall down.

My Weekend!
On Saturday in the weekends I had a rugby game, I had so much fun because I got 2 tries and 10 rips. During the game it was so hot and I was extremely tired but I still tried my best. My team won against Papatoetoe girls. Before the game I thought that they wouldn't be that good. I guess I was wrong because they were fast, tall and furious to play with but at the end my team still won. I love playing rippa rugby.
The next day on Sunday I went church with my family. I enjoy going to church because I love learning about God and Jesus. At church I have 3 classes and I'm in youth which is for age 11 - 16. When church was finished me and my family went home and ate food. Church starts at 9:00am and finishes at 12:00pm. This is what I did in my weekends.

School Assembly
On Monday the 10th of June we had a school assembly. Room 7 was hosting the assembly and they did a very good job. I was proud of myself because I had earned a certificate for very good participation in group activities. At assembly we also sang a song called, Wishy Washy which was very childish but also funny. I love having assembly especially when I earn a certificate or a Duffy book.

Teachers Going On Strike
Teachers around the country have made a decision that it is time to for them to go on strike. Some teachers are going on strike for more money because the amount of money they have been getting payed is really small so they ask and hope they get payed more.
Most school's in New Zealand have been closed because. Teachers need more staff members to give education to kids like us. A number of teachers marched through the streets of our main cities, demanding a better deal from the government.
The Government says it’s offered $1.2 billion to the teachers and it won’t back down. At this time the government has offered teachers a 3 percent pay rise for the next three years. Teachers across the country believe that this is not enough.

Healthy Chicken Wrap
Chicken Wrap
On Wednesday 15th of May, my class made chicken wrap. Today was a different day because we had the chance to make our own. The filling inside the wrap was delicious and so healthy. Some of the year 7 and year 8 weren't here because they went to a inter - school soccer game. These are a few steps we used to make our own healthy chicken wrap.
Step 1- You will need to get a board and lay your wrap on the board. Then you will need to spread mayonnaise on top of the wrap.
Step 2- Then cut your vegetables into small slices and pieces but not to small. The vegetables you would need is carrots, cucumber, lettuce, tomato and chicken.
Step 3- You then will need to add the vegetables onto the wrap and put them in the middle evenly.
Step 4- Lift the two sides and then roll it down from the bottom. Keep rolling until it has turned into a wrap. You now can put a paper towel around it and begin to eat.

Lastly you can eat your food!

ANZAC Assembly
On the last day of Term 1 we had an A.N.Z.A.C Service in the Multi-purpose Room where each student from a class would come up and read what they wrote in their rooms.
There were lots of parents and children at the assembly which was terrifying because everyone was making lots of noise that made the teachers and some parents disappointed.
When everyone was going to sit down their was a new guest sitting at the back next to Mrs Hamilton. I had fun but at the same time it was boring and I was feeling sleepy.
After, the A.N.Z.A.C service people were all starting to leave and classes left following on.

Cooking Fritata Kumara😀
How to make Fritata Kumara!!
1.First you fry the onions on the pan with oil.
2.Second you get the kumara and peel the pink skin until it has turned white.
3. Third you get a tin and crack 3 eggs into the tin then you get the milk and add it into the tin and stir it with a wooden spoon.
4. Fourth once the onions are cooked mix together with the egg milk and kumara which is grated. Once that is finish then you can add in the spices and pepper and this is optional.
5. Lastly you put the tin in the oven to cook and while it is cooking you can clean up the mess you have made. When that is finished and your food is still cooking you can take your apron off and grab your Chromebook to start blogging.

Meat Patties😃
Yesterday on the 27th of February Room 12 had tech. Well only half of the class because some went to softball with Mr Reid and there were three students who were away.
Once the food was cooked we put it onto a plate and started cleaning the table. Then we had the chance to put the burger buns into the oven until they were cooked. After that we put the patties into the buns and it was now ready to eat.

Back To School 2019!
Hello and welcome back to my blog for 2019 as I am, in room 12 as a year 7 student. This
year I hope to achieve all my goals and I also hope that this
year will be awesome and full of different things.
As a year 7 I need to step up how I do stuff and be better than before by putting more effort into every single work I do.
This year has been going very well and everyone is doing fine, but moving on I love it in room 12 because I'm starting to blend in with them. I also like working with my pairs because they encourage me which helps me with my work.
