       Room 10 did a survey showing how many students love learning. At the end we all had to vote which one they would do the whole day most voted for P.E which I would have agreed with.

Some of the learning subjects we voted for was Maths, Writing, Inquiry, Science, Home learning , Music and P.E

Matariki Returns

My Grandpas 53rd Birthday!

One Morning on a Tuesday I woke up early. Once I got up and had breakfast. For breakfast I had cheese and crackers. Later on I went and got changed. I wore something casual cause it was hot.

Sooner or later I finished getting ready. Oh my gosh I just remembered that it is my Grandpas birthday. I didn't do or make anything for my Grandpa. I cant believe I forgot that it was my grandpas birthday. As soon I remembered about his birthday I made him a card.

Afterwards my card that I made for my grandpa was finished. Then I watched Netflix to wait for my Grandpa to finish work. Not long I fell asleep when I was watching mako mermaids.

Suddenly I woke up and on the side of my ear I heard someone eating on the table. Then I turned my head and it was my Grandpa. I began to get up and walk over to him I grabbed my card and gave it to him. 

My Grandpa then said hello Faye and I then replied and said happy birthday papa. He then said thank you for the card and he read the card. In the card I wrote how kind he is. He then started to cry which was very sad so I hugged him. My whole family came and we all had a big feast.

Speech Finals

This was speech day and we had 1st 2nd and 3rd Maddy came 3rd Kate came 2nd and Kotipi came 1st for 2018 room 10 speech finals. Which was amazing because they were all good. I also learn more from there speeches which was good because I learn more things I never knew.

On speech day there were so much people from each classes I also wished that I was kinda in the speech finals but kind of not because I get shy. 

If you came to speech finals this year I hope you learn at least one thing from those people who were in the finals.

Daffodil Day

Last, week Friday the 31st of August. We all had a  whole school assembly on daffodil because all those who bought a daffodil raised enough money to help with all those who have cancer. 

Miss Vickers also gave the prefects each word to hold and the word all spelled out hope so we hoped for the cancer people

Sooner or later, assembly was finished and all of us came out side of the multi purpose room and Mrs Misela then said to the people who has a daffodil to line up for a nice picture to go on blog. Then we all head back to class.

What could have been better was if she could pausing while she is reading and she could look at the words to read the sentences properly. 

Overall what Faye did good was that she was using expression and taking a deep breath when it was the full stop. Also when there was punctuation she also used expression.

The Message In The Bottle

(Introduction) One sunny day I woke up in the morning and got ready to go to the beach on my bike Once I finished I went out side and went to the beach on my bike when I got there I hoped off and went and had a lovely swim. The pool was so cold that I hopped out and went to the changing room to change.


(Problem) A few minutes later when I finished I came out and went and lay on the sand. While I was enjoying the nice warm sun out of no where this glass bottle hit my foot then I got up to see what that was and it was a bottle with this little note in it I didn't know if I should grab it out or should I leave it in the bottle.


 I opened the bottle to grab out the note and saw it said to me from my parents I was so relieved because they were lost on a ship and I haven't heard them in years but I felt happy to see what it said then suddenly it was windy and the paper flew away.


(Solution) I was so mad because I really wanted to see what it said so I went home and went straight to sleep I seeped almost like 2 and a half days then apparently my phone rang and I woke up I cheeked my phone and it was just an alarm. I went on my bike and was having a little ride then apparently a paper landed on my bike. I was so surprised so I opened it and I finally saw the message that said Dear Faye from your parents we are still alive but live on another world we love you and always hope you get the message.



(Conclusion) At the ending after 2 years I was 32 and lived in my house alone I was so happy to hear that my parents are happy and keep sending bottles with notes in side to each other so we can always hear from each other. 

Term 2 Goals

Today I will be showing you a video that is basically showing you to Look left and right before you cross the road incase you get injured and end up in the hospital.

The message that this video is showing is mainly saying stop, look, and listen when you go to cross also you need to be super vised by an adult and wear a belt in the car. Enjoy the video.

On Monday 7th of April room 10 and 9 were reading ToiToi books. We all got split up into 7 groups.The first book my group was Reading was called Monday swimming.The characters in my book was a Alissa, teacher, and her class. 

In the book Alissa was mainly talking about how the girls and boys bathrooms smelt disgusting and really really gross.

The bathrooms were so disgusting and gross because most of the people in her class throwed their stinky germs togs on to the ground. The disgusting smell made the bathrooms smell.

Alissa didn't have a choice to swim or not even though she would purposely leave her togs at home and tell her teacher she forgot them.if she did purposely do that she would have to wear other peoples lost togs that smelt old.

Lastly, we have come to an end and I really enjoyed that book it was so fun reading that story and it was exciting.

   

My Exciting Holiday

On the 28th of April Saturday my Mum, Sister, Dad and I went rock climbing. Because it was so boring at home and there was nothing to do at home. At the rock climbing my Sister and I went to the kids area.

When my sister and I walked through the kids area we were so shocked that we couldn't wait until we started because we were so excited. The first thing we had to do before we started is putting on our suits because the suits have to connect to the rope for safety.


My sister and I first went climbing on the book shelf and that was extremely fun it actually  looked like a real shelf just a bigger size.

 Because we had challenges on some of the ones we climbed on and somethings we did didn't even involve climbing even though it was called rock climbing. some were jumping on bouncy castles, paint ball.


Finally we have come to an ending rock climbing was extremely fun and exciting because some of the fun activity's I tried was for the first time and was really fun.

ReadingMy goal for reading is to improve on how to use more expression so people know how the character is feeling.Achieved - because I went home and practised with my mum.

WritingMy goal for writing is to be specific by asking and answering specific questions.Almost - I could not work on it.

How to draw a portrait?

Today I will be explaining to you how to
draw a portrait of some one else.

Firstly you need to grab a paper and an
pencil to start the first thing you need to
do. So first of all you will have to draw 
an circle shape as an egg.

Next you need to start from the top of the
egg and then you bring down little line dots
in the middle of the egg shape.Then you do 
the same thing to the middle on the side of
the egg shape. Once you've done that you need
to do the same thing a bit downer on the bottom.
On the side.

Now you need to start drawing the main part.
You need to draw two eyes on the top on the sides
of the line coming down on the left and the right. 
Now you need to write some eyebrows on the top 
of the eyes.

Finally you need to draw a mouth on the bottom from the other side to the other side. Once you've done that you need to draw a nose on the side of the line in the middle line. Then you need to draw the last step. You need to draw your hair.

Commonwealth games is an international multi sport. It is also in Australia gold coast. Common wealth games is also something like swimming, sports,and Olympics.

What I want to know about the commonwealth games is why is there the common wealth games?I also want to know how much time they used to set the common wealth games up?

Swimming

When we started swimming we learned how to do stream line, back stroke,free style and  many more . We did some techniques that involves floating on our backs. Once I kept swimming I enjoyed it. Some times when I do back stroke I sink into the water, that is why you need to push your stomach up to the top. My favourite style was floating on my back and stream lining.

Kitchen chemistry

This afternoon room 10 did an experiment with Milo tin,  pressure cooker and some cold water. Before we started some of the people in our class was guessing what they think will happen if we turn on the pressure cooker with the cold water inside the Milo tin. 

Firstly we had to take the picture of the Milo around the tin off then we put some cold water into the tin and turned the pressure cooker on once it was on there was a lot of steam and bubbles coming out from the tin and it looked very hot so we turned it off.

After we all went outside and sat in a circle on the grass talking about what we think will happen if we turn the pressure cooker on with the lid on the tin.we turned on the pressure cooker and waited until something happened and we all moved back then the lid flew up and we all screamed that was so funny. here is a video clip of when the lid flew up.
